the last three weeks
whoopsy. i really had no intention of disappearing for three weeks (in fact, at the end of january i was considering doing a blog-post-a-day challenge for february - laughable) and the time has slid by in a rush. my mom was here, visiting from canada, and we took a mini-holiday to rye with the kids, spent a day at a petting zoo style farm (which mae adored and sophie surprisingly HATED), splashed at many bayside beaches, visited the botanic gardens, scienceworks, playgrounds, enjoyed some kid-free shopping.
i applied for and was accepted to finders keepers' next melbourne market in april - super exciting news and only mildly panic inducing as it means i have much pattern development and product sewing ahead of me.
i snuck away to craft camp and thoroughly enjoyed another luxurious weekend of amazing cooking, great company and hours to sew and design (thank you suzie, maria, alison, ellen, anna, jodie and niki - and my mom for not minding). i mostly concentrated on market stock development but i did manage to sew together a hat for mae, using the free oliver & s pattern and some pinwale corduroy that i printed with my seedpod design in lightish pink (the pattern is reversible and the inside is cotton drill i printed in a dusty lavender with white spots). i'm pretty happy with the way it turned out but next time i will use interfacing as the pattern suggests, this one is just a wee bit too floppy but still totally usable (and even got a nice comment from the new kinder teacher - bonus).
i have some new things in the shop and some more new things about to go into the shop but i will save that for it's own post... later... or tomorrow... definitely not three weeks from now.
