not really scroogey
again, a fairly unrelated photo, but they are cute, these two, so i can't resist.
i was just struck by the fact that i have posted not one single christmassy thing this year, shop update aside (speaking of which, there are still a couple of very cute goodies waiting to be snapped up before i shut down shop mid-next week) but, while i haven't been decorating, i have been shopping, celebrating and looking forward to a fairly chilled out holiday celebration at our house this year (one very small benefit of having not much family living nearby means we don't have to run around to visit everyone). and who knows, i may even dig out the few christmas decorations that aren't in storage tomorrow while mae is at childcare and hang a few things as a surprise for her. and next year, my friends, we are going BIG. full decorations, real tree, advent calendar, cookie baking, gingerbread house decorating... the works, canadian-style minus scarves and dark skies at 4:30pm.

I'll gladly send you some snow from Montreal! It's -25C here today. I love all the baking, decorations etc. but I too could ditch the scarves and cold. It's completely overrated especially when you have to dress three kids to just get out. Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeletei DEFINITELY don't miss the snow and cold of canadian christmas, that's for sure! and while i complain about windy, rainy melbourne winter, i can't even imagine raising my kids in canada now, i think we'd just have to hang out at home for 8 months of the year - boo.
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas Leslie, have a wonderful time! x
