anyway, a few things of note: the new issue of homespun with the pattern for a fleur playmat is now on newsstands! there are a couple of other gorgeous projects in there from fiona of hop skip jump and tiel of tsk tsk so it's well worth picking up. i'm hoping to take some better pics of the mat i made mae and a shot of the article to prove it exists but not today - it's weirdly hot, i have much internetness to catch up on and and a picnic quilt to bind. cross your fingers i don't screw it up as i'm on a bit of a roll lately. here is mae with the latest addition to her misfit onegirl toy collection, sunny the fleur with backwards petals. sunny will be joining her prototype, non-puppet oobee blankee, the doll quilt prototype i made and decided not to make more of, and her newest oobee blankee that was destined for matilda's market but had coffee spilt on it before it was sewn up. that mae, she's a lucky kid, i tells ya : )

what's this then? there seem to be patterns on the reverse side of these petals...

really, mom? again? come on...

ah, well, still pretty tasty.
oh, one more note, you may notice that the above fleur has a wee smiley mouth instead of the pink cheeks that used to adorn them? yeah, that was another mistake when i made a larger fleur pillow for the market (it sold pretty quickly but there will be more early next year), sewed the eyes and then thought "hmm. this looks rather bare. i'd better add a mouth." not remembering that i usually sew cheeks on them. yikes. i really need more sleep. anyway, i really like the mouths so hence forth all fleurs will have a little smile. there is one cheeky fleur left in my shop if anyone misses the cheeks!
Mae looks so much like Shane in that shot where she is looking at the camera. The frown is all yours though :)
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear internet is up and running. I need to get something together before I finish up next week.
So so cute !!
ReplyDeleteg.
she is getting so big awww shes lovely
ReplyDeleteWow, I think Mae gets exponentially cuter every single time I see a new photo of her. She is so expressive! She is definitely lucky to have so many lovely home-made goodies. My mom used to sew a lot of things for us when I was little, and all of those items were inevitably my favorites!
