yep, it's pretty much all baby, all the time around here. especially when gorgeous strangers send you mystery packages containing handmade bibs in stunning fabrics out of the blue.
thank you again so much, psaltis - everything is beautiful, so thoughtful, and will be put to good use : )
i seem to be bitten by the knitting bug once again, in part because of a few recent minor sewing disasters and in part because i can do it with houseguests around (while they enjoy countless bottles of micro brewery beer, delicious smelling wines and soft, luxurious cheeses. boo). with two concurrent weekends in bendigo starting tonight, i've been scanning the internet for free, simple baby sweater (jumper) patterns that i can attempt while i'm away from my sewing room. here are some links for anyone else who might be on the same, single minded wavelength:
• Berocco Cutie Patootie (has crochetted edges)
• Knitty Haiku
• Baby Cardi
• Yarnsticks Hooded Baby Cardigan
• Knitty Daisy
• Yoked Quick Easy Baby Sweater Pattern
• Baby Cardigan Pattern
• Baby's First Sweater
• Baby-Bees Sweater Pattern
• Raglan Baby Sweater with Collar
• Garter Stitch Baby Cardigan
and last, but not least i have finally, finally popped a couple of the vintage pieced windsees into my handmade shop, along with a couple of oobees that i found languishing in a box when i unpacked my craft room.
i also put a few more housewares into the onegirl gathers vintage shop with plenty more to add over the next few weeks!
Oh Leslie! What a delight to wander back to your blog after a long absence and read that you are pregnant. Unfortunately my work and my (just turned) one year old have kept so busy that I haven't been able to read what you have been up to since January. Congratulations, I am thrilled for you.
ReplyDeletewow, those bibs are gorgeous. what a sweet gift!
ReplyDeleteyay, a little girl, congrats! (reciprocating your comment over at my blog....hehe!) so awesome. have you felt her move yet? my little girlie has been moving a lot in the past couple weeks, it's so neat!
ReplyDeletelove that you posted all these baby sweaters...i was just sitting down to do a little research on just the same thing. i figure i can start with the baby knitting and sewing finally, now that i know who/what she is!
Happy to see that you received and like the bibs :) Your windsees are absolutely gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI hope that you don't mind that I have tagged you on my blog to list 7 things about yourself that others may find interesting, but there is absolutely no pressure to do it.
Hope everything is coming along nicely for you and bub.
I remember being in the same state. My favourite freebie pattern was bulky baby asymmetrical cardigan at http://home.pacbell.net/kapleo/blog/domesticspherepatterns.html. You'll need to scroll down about half way to find it. It's so cute and can be converted for any gauge yarn. I made a few of them. I've been meaning to scale the pattern up but never get around to it.
ReplyDeleteGirls are so much more fun to dress than boys. Although the overwhelming abundance of pink and purple becomes tired VERy quickly.
Congratulations! I love your site. You are very talented and have a great eye for design. xx
ReplyDeleteLove the bibs! The fabric is fabulous!
