back in crafting action
progress! works of progress, to be exact. i'm quite pleased with the start of the series of windsees that i'm piecing together from the bounty of vintage scraps i bought from etsy. the one showing on the top is probably the most crazy combination, most of the others are based more clearly around a colour scheme. for a few i decided to experiment and put together any old pieces, just to shake things up a bit. it reminded me of a colour exercise we did in design school where we had to pick our two least favourite colours and then do a layout using them - the results were surprising, most of them were unexpectedly lovely together. sometimes breaking your own rules can be quite refreshing :)

that sounds like a great exercise. i am soooo picky about my colors, a task like that would Really stretch me!
ReplyDeletelovely combinations you have there!
;)
Oh! I can't wait to see the finished windsees! They are going to be super cute, I can tell already. ;)
ReplyDeleteHehe. I did a similar exercise last semester in one of my design classes. I'm such a stickler for "matching colors properly" that it really made me sit back and realize I didn't *always* have to... lol.
I can't wait to see the finished windsees!
ReplyDeleteHmm, I keep trying to think of my 2 least favorite colors and I can't even come up with that! :)
