sob story.

broken

so sad.

i've broken my very favourite vintage mikasa mug... the mug that makes me happy every time i see it and sparked my current thrifting love affair with vintage mikasa.

i dropped it. oh, how could i drop it!! i'm a little crushed.

i have a plea to all the aussie op shoppers out there - please help me find another blue mikasa mug. if you could keep your eye out when thrift shopping or garage saling, i would be so happy to reimburse you for the cost plus shipping or put together a lovely package of onegirl treats to thank you. please! i miss my little mug already...

i will keep a lookout for one on my thrifting adventures.
hey, you could still use it - say as a toothbrush holder or a cute little vase...

  6. I've seen some mugs of that shape but they were plain. Do the Mikasa mugs have a special stamp on the bottom? I will keep an eye out for you. I just stumbled onto your blog and it is delightful. Great score with the sewing box by the way!

Wow I would be crushed, too. The colour is absolutely gorgeous. But as others have said...glue will help ease the pain.

  8. thanks for your commiseration, guys : )

sara, i've uploaded a pic of the bottom of the mug with it's mikasa stamp at http://www.flickr.com/photos/lesliekeating/375387895/. (it looks all shiny but it's just wet, the mug has a matte finish). i have quite a few other mikasa mugs but just really want this one, it was my all-time fav... thanks for helping!

  9. Hey, I was browsing and found this and it rang a bell so I looked back through my regular reads (which includes you) and found what I was looking for. I was hoping that it might have been a 'eureka' moment of finding the replacement mug but then I realised that you are one and the same!

    I'm sorry for your loss.

    cheers, Anna
