sob story.
so sad.
i've broken my very favourite vintage mikasa mug... the mug that makes me happy every time i see it and sparked my current thrifting love affair with vintage mikasa.
i dropped it. oh, how could i drop it!! i'm a little crushed.
i have a plea to all the aussie op shoppers out there - please help me find another blue mikasa mug. if you could keep your eye out when thrift shopping or garage saling, i would be so happy to reimburse you for the cost plus shipping or put together a lovely package of onegirl treats to thank you. please! i miss my little mug already...

ReplyDeleteoh leslie, that really sucks! it's such a fab mug...i've broken fave things too and it's frustrating!
ReplyDeletei will keep a lookout for one on my thrifting adventures.
hey, you could still use it - say as a toothbrush holder or a cute little vase...
oh no!! I'm so sorry that happened. :( I'm such a klutz I'm always breaking my favorite things, so my sympahties are with you. :\
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to tell you that I really enjoy reading your blog & I'm glad I've found it :-)
I'm sorry to hear about your mug!
Best wishes,
Elisabeth
try crazy glue!!! there is hope!
ReplyDeleteI've seen some mugs of that shape but they were plain. Do the Mikasa mugs have a special stamp on the bottom? I will keep an eye out for you. I just stumbled onto your blog and it is delightful. Great score with the sewing box by the way!
ReplyDeleteWow I would be crushed, too. The colour is absolutely gorgeous. But as others have said...glue will help ease the pain.
ReplyDeletethanks for your commiseration, guys : )
ReplyDeletesara, i've uploaded a pic of the bottom of the mug with it's mikasa stamp at http://www.flickr.com/photos/lesliekeating/375387895/. (it looks all shiny but it's just wet, the mug has a matte finish). i have quite a few other mikasa mugs but just really want this one, it was my all-time fav... thanks for helping!
Hey, I was browsing and found this and it rang a bell so I looked back through my regular reads (which includes you) and found what I was looking for. I was hoping that it might have been a 'eureka' moment of finding the replacement mug but then I realised that you are one and the same!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry for your loss.
cheers, Anna
sad, and tragic. :(
